This is Silver. If you can’t tell she’s pregnant!! Her other two sisters were also pregnant. She is the last one to have her kittens. I’ve been trying to keep an eye on her but she keeps disappearing. I’m sure she’s trying to find a safe place.
I got four fainting goats over the weekend. They are so small and cute. I got 3 females that are 6 months old and the male is 4 months old. The male is the brown and white one. They are a great addition. I’m so happy I got them ☺️
My quail are doing good. I have 34 adults. Most are females and they lay good eggs. I’m excited to be finishing their quail enclosure. It should a way better environment for them. I think it can hold around 50 quail. Then I’d still have my quail tower and other quail cage to keep anywhere between 20-50 more. I’m not sure how many I want. Right now I’m able to sell all the eggs easily. I’ve been requested their meat before but last time I did a bad job so I didn’t sell any lol.
So my pekin ducks are almost full grown!! They are massive. I love them. They aren’t really friendly though. I try to hold them and give them treats but they just quack. I’ve never had friendly ducks. I wish they were. They are so cute. I love their beaks. I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before but one of my ducks were blind in one eye when I got it. That one is doing well. It is still very aware of its surroundings.
They are all sprouting so much. I feel like they’ve grown even more since taking this video. I just ordered my weed barrier for my garden. So it should be coming this next week. So I’ll be able to start on it very soon. I’m so excited to get these in the ground!!
This goats is named bunny. It was the name by the breeder. She fits that name though. She’s very jumpy. She will eat a little out of my hand now. But still pretty skiddish. I’m hoping she comes around.
This is Bo Bo. He is my most physco dog I own. He has to be put on a runner outside so he doesn’t run away. I am suppose to be getting an inground fence for my dogs so none of them can leave the area I’m doing. I’m planning on getting around 7 acres done. The company keeps rescheduling me though. I’ve wanted this done since March and have been trying to get them to come get it done since then. They started one day for about an hour then left because the ground was too wet. So I’m so excited for Bo when it’s complete he can finally run free and I won’t have to worry about him. When he likes to run away he likes to run and not let anyone catch him until he’s ready. Which usually is the next day unless I can catch him trying to get my goats. He’s obsessed with the goats and wanting to try and eat them. The in ground fence goes around all chicken and goat enclosures so they would have to break multiple barriers to get any animals. Hoping the in ground fence deters them enough.
I have a lot of plants starting to sprout. It’s so exciting to watch them grow. Most of what you see coming up cucumbers, beans and pumpkins. I’m excited to get them planted in the ground!
I put in around 25 quail eggs in my incubator today. I will add more tomorrow with the ones they lay. I’m so excited to have more quail. They are such great additions to the farm. They grow fast and are pretty quick profit return.
I’ve had 10 quail hatch so far. They are so cute and all seem to be doing well. They are so small. It’s one of my favorite things about hatching them is seeing them when they are this tiny. I don’t think any more of my eggs will hatch. I didn’t have a male with all my females I dont think. So not all of my eggs were fertilized.
My little chicks aren’t so little anymore. They are starting to get actual feathers now. This is my favorite batch of chickens for the year. I’m so excited for them to get fully grown.
My quail have been doing good. I got four dozen eggs in the past two days. I’m still working on there new quail coop. I’m excited for when they are finally able to move into it. I also have those 36 quail eggs still in the incubator. They should start hatching this Sunday!
I started some pumpkin seeds a little while ago and one’s sprouting! I love pumpkins. They take up a lot of space though. I love how when the pumpkins are ready it’s basically fall.
So something awful happened. I brought these girls home yesterday. And I lost one!!! So what happened is that I got home. I then went to go get everything ready in the boy goat pen because that’s where I wanted them so they wouldn’t be with the other goats because I didn’t want them to get bullied and the grass is about two feet tall in there. I bring one goat over and set her down gently in the pen and as soon as I let her go she went crazy. Like she’s never been in a pen before. Just sprinting in every direction into the fences. I went to get her sister so she would hopefully feel better. But she didn’t and they both just were going crazy. I went to go get them some water and hope they would calm down. But they didn’t. They both hoped over 4 foot fence and got out. I was able to catch one because she went up the driveway. And the other one I didn’t even see the direction she went. I looked everywhere yesterday. Nonstop walking the property. There were no signs. I don’t think she stayed on the property. I tried leaving grain and hay out. I look before I let the dogs out everytime. But I think I lost her. It’s so sad. She was only 9 weeks old and now she’s alone.
I planted some peas and cucumbers today. I’m excited to see how many grow. I think I’m mainly filling my garden with these for right now cause I know I’ll eat them.
This is Zayn, Rue, and Tuck. Bella is the only one missing from this. They all love to play together all the time. They constantly play with each other when they are outside. They sprint around and tackle each other. It’s pretty fun to watch.
My jalapeños are still growing. It’s my only thing growing right now. I’ve started more plants but they haven’t sprouted yet. They seem to be loving the sun. I’m hoping to have a few other things grow soon. It’s just a waiting game now.
It’s been a sad day today. Yesterday I came home from getting feed and found Bart on the deck not moving. It was already too late when I got home. I left for about 30 minutes and he was acting normal at least like he has been for a while now. He didn’t seem worse. I took him to the vet about two weeks ago. They said he had some ear mites but other than that they thought he was healthy. So this was really unexpected. He was such a great cat. All his girls loved him. He really fit in and was an amazing cat to have around. He was less than 2 years old. I thought I’d have more time with him.
So my farm got a little smaller today. I sold one of my does because she was too aggressive to have on the farm. Then I sold 11 more roosters and 5 male quail. I got rid of the roosters and quail because to many boys can lead to issues.
My little chicks are doing so good. Growing everyday. All seem healthy. They all seem to get along pretty well too. I definitely love this group of chickens. Some will lay colorful eggs and some will be giants and some will have pretty head feathers and some will have feathery feet.
So my plants I started in January and March are starting to sprout. Or at least my jalapeño plants are starting to grow. I have about 8 or so sprouting. I couldn’t believe it took this long or it happened. I thought for surely they wouldn’t sprout. I thought they were done for and haven’t touched them in months. I think the cats knocked them down once. So they need more dirt and to be replanted in something better. But so excited they started to grow.
I’m working on building a new quail coop so I’m putting 30 eggs into the incubator. That’s all I got collecting this morning or else I may have put in 36. We’ll see if they lay 6 more tonight I’ll add because there’s space for another row of eggs. I love quail chicks they are so tiny. Excited to see how many hatch.
This is Cindy. Lately she’s been obsessed with laying on the bed with me anytime I’m on it. She’s so sweet. She’s very persistent when she wants pets. When she’s not inside on the bed I usually find her outside exploring. I see her go all over.
This weekend was a fun weekend for chicks. On Saturday I picked up 10 more amercuanas then 3 black jersey giants. On Sunday I picked up 10 silkies and 10 polish. These guys are definitely my favorite chickens. So I have 33 chicks now, they are probably only a couple days old. On Sunday I had someone pick up 10 of my roosters from the older groups of chickens. I had 64 chickens then added 33 then took 10 away so I have 87 chickens right now.
This is daisy winking. Today the puppies are all 9 weeks old. They are all now with their new family’s. I had such an amazing time with them. They were so cute and playful.
This is tuck swimming… this was my second time taking him swimming. He learned by the end of the night to mostly swim with his front legs under the water.
This is Tuck. I think he is very handsome dog. He has a great personality. He’s pretty hyper still, he’s met at lot of people this week with people picking up puppies and he’s been so good. I just started taking him to some water this year so he’s just learning how to swim now. It’s pretty funny to watch him, he isn’t the best yet.
My quail are all doing super well. They are laying a good amount of eggs now. I get around 1.5-2 dozen a day. They are fun to watch, they also like to watch you back it seems.
